Our finance department has an immediate need for an Accountant to initially cover a
9 month leave of absence on a full-time basis with the possibility of ongoing full-time

Salary will be determined based on the experience of the successful candidate and
with $50.0K per annum as the bottom of the range. Some group benefits, including paid
vacation time will be included. Previous experience in an advertising agency and
experience using MediaOcean are a definite advantage. In the absence of previous
experience in an advertising agency and knowledge of MediaOcean, experience in a
professional services environment AND knowledge of a complex enterprise accounting
system would be comparable.

Finance & Administration Team

We are the team that keeps the machine running at the end of everyone’s hard work delivering to our clients. We understand both the internal and external client relationships. To do this the machine needs to operate at an extremely high level of efficiency with a deep understanding of our industry as it relates to financial control. This is a summarized list of key duties that is not cumulative of responsibilities, which may change periodically based on operational and departmental needs.



  • Independently process / manage assigned list of client’s billing / receivables;
  • Independently process / manage account:
    • Overhead expenses
    • Corporate credit card payment
    • Production and media vendor payables
    • Cash requirements
    • Corporate tax payments
    • GST / PST filing / payment, including calculation and journal entry
  • Account reconciliations, including bank, corporate credit card and depreciation
  • Review and approve staff timesheets
  • Process / manage time and pay for Freelancers
  • General data entry (Payroll, Standard Monthly entries)
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset database
  • Complete accounting, administration filing
  • Respond to queries from external suppliers
  • Respond to queries from internal staff
  • Other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Office Management (Due to COVID19 we no longer have a receptionist / office administrator. The tasks have been distributed to other staff in the agency including the Accountant position and will be part of this role for the foreseeable future)

  • Maintain / order office supplies
  • Liaison with office suppliers including coffee, shredding, recycling, security, landlord, photocopiers, postage, etc.
  • Arrange for office maintenance as needed
  • Member of Health & Safety Committee
  • Manage onsite external storage

Experience / Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 – 2 years previous experience in an agency in a similar role
  • Previous experience / full understanding of MediaOcean
  • Ideally general bookkeeping
  • Ideally working towards completion of CPA or recently obtained CPA
  • Understanding of full accounting cycle
  • Ideally previous experience in general office administration
  • Able to multi-task
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Calm and patient under pressure
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and oral
